In correspondence addressed to the Office of the Under-Secretary-General, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), ICANN President and CEO Rod Beckstrom indicates that he looks forward to forthcoming discussions in New York on 14 December.
Per resolution 2010/2 of the Economic and Social Council, these consultations are meant to be "open and inclusive consultations involving all Member States and other stakeholders with a view to assisting the process of enhanced cooperation ...in respect of international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet ... through a balanced participation of all stakeholders in their respective roles and responsibilities."
Rod's letter references DESA correspondence sent to him earlier on 6 October. That correspondence is not posted on ICANN's website.
