Community Expresses a Lack of Trust in ICANN

A review of the presentation prepared for the GNSO Council on the topic of the RAA amendments reveals that there is "Strong Support for including observers in negotiations (representing the interests of affected non-parties)".

Simply put, the community has arrived at the point where it no longer believes that it can trust ICANN to properly represent their interests when it comes to secret negotiations with ICANN's contracted parties.  On far too many occasions the community has witnessed ICANN placing contracted party interests far above the public interest -- and now the community has finally signaled that it's time for a dramatic change.
